How do animals shape their environments? What materials and strategies do they use to build—and what can humans learn from them? The exhibition Nature Designs reveals that humans aren’t the only ones creating complex structures: From wasps producing paper-like materials to birds weaving human-made objects into their nests, animals have long inspired our own innovations.

At the same time, the exhibition challenges us to rethink human building and production practices. How can we steer development in a positive direction to preserve biodiversity and vibrant ecosystems? A thought-provoking exploration of the interplay between natural and human design.
