You will find open or closed nets, bifurcated or hierarchical branches, reticular or parallel veins - all existing in different densities. Their fascinating task is to provide the system with nutrients while crating a grate surface. Inspired by the structural properties of leaf vein systems originated the study "Metal Leaves". It deals with the surface structures of plant leaves and explores various stability methods. These leave surfaces were imitated by pressing lines in 0,5 mm to 1 mm thick aluminium sheet metal. The deepenings were rolled in with a beading machine, the ones you might known from ancient metalworking companies.
